Knock on wood, I’ve always been in and out of there in the past with just a 10-12 hour break. The time when you and I were there together and it was all screwed up is the only time that’s happened.
bigcat1124 Thanks this. -
I’m going to head to the Petro in Ontario around midnight. That way I can get another 10bhr break in and I’ll only be about 30 miles away. Sounded like I’ll be heading up to Tulare once empty.

4 trucks at Grandview when I showed up. 2 were loaded, 1 was broke down waiting on a radiator hose. So it doesn’t look too bad this time.

Did you get loaded today? Lol
Tanker_82 Thanks this. -
Yep. I made it to the Corning Loves a few hours ago. When I got to Grandview I was out of hours and was planning on taking my break there anyway. I was there a total of 11 hours and left this morning.

That’s more like it. Lol. Nor-Cal beverage in Anaheim is interesting. I got there and they wasn’t sure what to do with me. They finally said, drop it in door 1. I made sure they knew I was a tanker. Still, door 1. So I dropped it and pulled to the side. After about an half hour, I walked up and asked if they were going to take it and unload it.
After about 20 minutes of phone calls. She said that there was an empty. So I said I’ll take it. I grabbed the loaded one and went to the front of the building. There was a gate to go thru to get to the empty. I called and asked to open the gate. After 30 minutes and three more phone calls, someone opened it and gave an attitude about it. Told me that I needed to drop my loaded one, move the empty out, and put my loaded in.
They had a yard jockey, so I asked if he could move the empty out. Told me that no one there could drive it. As I was backing in, I had to wait twice as the yard dog drove past me. After a few sarcastic comments by me to the guy. I hit the road. Lol. I got to Tulare and got washed. Waiting to hear back from dispatch this morning. Rant over! Lol.88 Alpha, Tanker_82 and motocross25 Thank this. -
Lol. Gotta love it when a 40 hour a week time clock puncher gets slick and tries to talk down to the guys who work 70 hours and live in the truck during their off time. I’ve had to bite my tongue a few times too. Especially in the Northeast.
On a different note, I’ve been unloaded a few times at a van dock too. The first time I was like huh??? Then they opened the door and rolled a pump outside to the edge of the concrete.
I had 11:40 left on my 70 this morning with no gain back until tomorrow night. Considering I’m still 500+ miles from Riverside I will be doing a 34 tomorrow. Probably in Ontario. I left San Antonio last Wednesday morning and have ran 550-600 miles every day since then, so I roasted my clock too fast to be able to run off recap.bigcat1124 and motocross25 Thank this. -
Nice. I did the same with mine. Well, after the first two day. Load not being ready and breaking down, I only get 6 hrs back the next two days. I’m heading to the terminal. Grabbing an Uber and hanging out in town. I don’t load till Thursday morning right down the road, heading to Arcadia, FL. Might as well enjoy the local flavor again. Lol
Tanker_82 Thanks this. -
Made it to Riverside. Waiting on a trailer to be unloaded, then heading over to the truck stop in Ontario. I’m down to 1:14 on my 70 until tonight at midnight. I just totaled everything up since I left San Antonio 1 week ago. It was 3,876.1 miles from last Wednesday until this Wednesday. Had 1 drop/hook, 2 live wash outs, and 1 live load in that time.
bigcat1124 Thanks this.
