So if that is true, then what about talking on a CB? I can see no difference (emergencies excluded).

Georgia does, starts July 1, but probably because of texting. Good start. Imagine some poor bimbo actually having to speak words. The horror.

I'm not sure honesty, I can be on the radio just fine.

That said , I don't get involved in conversations on the radio though.
    Its mostly:
One in the middle at the 140
Or watch out west bound car fire on the shoulder mile an a half ahead of ya ect. ect.

I don’t own one yet which is why I’m asking.
Like walking and chewing gum is the way I see it.

I don’t talk on the phone hardly except to the customer and that’s if I never been there and have questions.
I text and talk on the phone when needed on my car. Same reasons as you.
If my wife calls it’s an emergency.
I call her when I park for the night.
Apple using Siri is completely hands free.
My Chevy uses the speakers and the mic on the rear view mirror.
I can do both safely and have but only when needed.
I’m an older guy I don’t need to be connected like some younger fellas.

It makes me chuckle the people that walk around 24/7 with their headsets. Like dude you really make that many phone calls that you need your headset on to go get a fuel receipt?

    I agree with you.

I won't invest in a headset. Everyone I know, knows that I will not answer my phone or a text while driving. They know to leave me a message and I will return their call when I stop. I even silence my ringer while driving. I've been out here 26+ years accident and violation free and I intent to keep it that way. Call me what you want, but it's my choice, as it is other people's choice to talk on the phone while driving. I believe that the only thing anyone should be doing while driving any vehicle is paying attention to the road & what's happening around them.

I disagree. How is having a conversation through the phone more distracting that conversing with a passenger. Do you think vehicles should be limited to single occupancy? Maybe ban radios?

Anyways I just pair my phone to the radio headunit and talk through the built-in mic and speakers.

    joshuapowell61 and BazookaJoe Thank this.
