For what my limited experience is worth, I love my 51’ Fontaine Infinity TX. 10’ top, 41’ bottom, container locks, 40” bottom deck ride height so I can load up to 10’2”, 22.5’s, sliding rear axle, Apitong wood decks, weighs 12,000 pounds from the factory before adding boxes, etc. Seems to be a very versatile trailer.

We have three Wilson Roadbrute combo step decks. We had a all aluminum Premier with 17.5” but the deck height was too high so we traded it on 17.5” combo. Also have two of these with 22.5”

I like Wilson. I think they build some nice trailers especially cow wagons and hoppers, the only thing I'm not super crazy about is the rounded wheel wells sticking up that high on some of their stepdecks.
@rank , what's your thoughts on those wheel wells? You had much issues with those like that? -
I always though that was a good way to get the 22.5 tires on a low pro trailer. Almost everything sits on 4x4s anyway. The fenders seem to be about 4” above the deck anyway. It’s not going to haul everything but I always thought it looked like a good compromise?SAR, kylefitzy, rank and 1 other person Thank this.

Off the top of my head the only thing i see them preventing you from loading is cans.snowman_w900 and rank Thank this.

We have a 2008 and we found them to be good and strong. Strong enough we bought another in 2012. Also bought a 17.5” in 2016 but it costs a lot more to keep rubber on it do we don’t use it as much. Only damage to the wheel wells was done by a 40,000 lbs vibratory compactor similar to the pic. Excavators don’t damage them but we use dunnage to get over the humps just in case.Tug Toy, Ruthless and snowman_w900 Thank this.

That’s what we thought. Bought another just like it. The worst part is when you’re booking tall broker freight over the phone everyone gets s little nervousTug Toy and snowman_w900 Thank this.

I’ve had cans on there. Without locks obviously. Biggest downside is not able to have a sliding axle
