Just throwing a few ideas out here. Have you considered calling the state attorney? Or maybe calling a news media in SC ?

Oh man, this kind of crap just incenses me. Every time somebody or worse still some agency comes up with crap like this, it gives everyone in law enforcement a black eye.

jlkklj, I really hope you do take this to the media.

And, as rookietrucker states, try calling the state attorney general's office, (or whatever they have there.)

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have been on the phone since this morning around 0900 working on this issue.

Consequently the court clerk got annoyed enough to call the State Transport Police of South Carolina in Blythewood to get to the bottom of this issue.

It has been resolved in my favor and no further "sanctions" will be imposed by the SC court. No apology, no offer of an internal investigation.

What would have happened if I had not had the good sense to send the fine in a certified letter with return receipt requested?

What would have happened if I had not followed up with this issue?

How many drivers simply send in the fine and forget about it?

I hate to think what could have happened had I not been so vigilant about resolving this "problem."

Words of advice for my fellow drivers out there. CYA (COVER YOUR ARSE)!
Whether you use a prepaid legal service, hire an attorney, or like me, choose to resolve the issue yourself, be sure to document everything with photo copies of the citation, copies of the money order, and definitely send it in certified mail.

Those pre-paid systems are a joke. I used to do that.

1st case speeding CA. result - take driver safty course and fine redused. I already know that and could have done that myself.

2nd case speeding OR. results - Nothing, thanks allot.

3rd case accident in WA. given ticket for speed to fast for conditions ONLY because there was diesel spilled. result - Nothing they could do. once again thanks for nothing.

I drop them and will NEVER use that crap again.

I got this bs ticket for going over this dam in dillion CO. I missed the signs. I know that was my fault, but it was because of homeland security that they did not want me going over that dam. They thought I was going to blow it up, but they pulled me over one mile after I had crossed the dam. $50 fine. Went to the police station the next day and paid the fine with a credit card. Then I have proof that the transaction did go through with the credit card company billing statement as my proof.

    jlkklj777 Thanks this.
