Just bought a 2012 freightliner sold my mack 2007. I was pumping diesal from a car station at superstore where i was getting lots of points and discount. Now with this newer truck it says ultra low sulfur diesal. Not sure if it matters but iv pumped once and that was at flying jay. Got a few points but no discount.. my question does it matter about the diesal or can i pump any where? And whats best place if chevron flying jay or petro?

Just don't put off road diesel in it (it'll be red), or be ready to pay a big fine if caught.
driverdriver, peterbilt_2005 and MackRookie Thank this. -
In some states, like Arizona car diesel is taxed at a different (lower) rate. Therefore in some cases it wouldn’t count towards your IFTA I suppose.
MackRookie Thanks this. -
It's all the same.
Today my price in bc is 1.21 for chilliwack husky or hope esso or either husky or esso in kamloops. These are always the cheapest on my card.
How much are you paying?
It's all the same as long as it isn't the red stuff. Doesn't matter husky esso petro Canada flying j Costco, doesn't matter.MackRookie Thanks this. -
Ultra Low Sulfur has been the EPA standard for years now.
Gas station or TS. They all have to abide by the rules.
Sometimes, i fuel up at chevron or maverik. But even the truckstops that sell diesel to cars or pickups. Comes out of the same tank as the semi's.MackRookie Thanks this. -
The only area in the country that may still have non-ultra low sulfer diesel would be in the northeast where some refinery's still refine a bit of heating oil that does not meet the new EPA mandate. But you not find that at a retail location.

Where did you go, Costco ? I’m guilty if the price is right. I just get there if I’m in the area and early morning so I don’t get the 4 wheelers upset.

I was filling up at superstore .7 cents back on liter. At flying jay it was 151.9 a liter and superstore after points its 138.9. Some guy told me its bad for the engine so i got worried and went to flying jay. But these guys are saying its fine so im going back to superstore car pump for next fill up.Tug Toy and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Fueled only at car pumps for a year. Still do sometimes. Only reason I don't now is because i get a better deal at the companies pumps.
