    Thanks for the diagram

After doing a little thinking on your post........I think I understand how it works and what signal adjustment you can do with it.....very nice. I like this idea a lot more than a pressure regulator.

Another question though.......is 1K enough resistance to do the job, if I want a false signal of 45 Lbs of manifold pressure?

I don't know the right resistance, I found that from some site in internet and it's for gasoline engines with lower boost so I think diesels with higher boost need different resistance. But it should give stock signal to the point of just under fuelcut limit and only filter out everything above that. You must find the right resistance with potentiometer and then switch to fixed resistor because it's smaller and more reliable.

From my past expirences of playing with CAT engines........I think it needs a lot more than 1K........also think with just the resistor and diodes, I just need to come from the supply voltage line to the signal line to fool the ECM into thinking what I want it to. Why I never thought of this before now...........is beyond me

Thank You very much Lenny for twisting my brain into thinking about this differently.

I wish I knew more about electorics. This is over my head. Maybe I can find someone to help me with this setup when I get the ecm back! Thanks for the info!

What you would want to use is a "RELIEVING" regulator. This characteristic allows reduction of downstream air pressure when the system is dead-ended.

Google "Surplus Centers", usually have many regulators, and very good prices.
This is also where I got the education about the "relieving" term.
I purchased a couple from them, but never got around to installing one. After reading 550's earlier post about it not working all the time, I chickened out, not wanting to go into that "de-rate" nightmare again!

Hopefully someone would list the correct resistor for the electronic gizmo!

Those are ecm fuel and torque settings, trim codes are what you were asking earlier.
