I'm sooooo happy to be headed back to the oilfield. The 99 ch mack my dad just got is set up very nice for the patch tall 24.5 with 4.42 mack rears and mack 18 speed. Came with a wet kit too.

I'm gonna be local in the Marcellus pulling a water transport to start out with for time being. 1500 a shift and burn less than 200$ in fuel. Get the bugs works out of it and then my uncle is gon run the other shift so 3000 a day and only about 400 in fuel.

I'm gon send you a pm

Gas/Oil trucking is top dollar at least where I work. Once you make a good rep and a network you'll never go hungry, support your family and have a few nice things. Thing is you become a ##### for money. Hard to turn down 3k/wk even retired.

I'll tell you how I quit my 1s job. Worked for a small 120 truck food service company. Willow Run Foods out of Kirkwood ny. @bzinger I'm pretty sure delivers to them. @JPenn worked their @Mike2633 knows who they are.

Mains paper and food service is 5 min up the road our main competitor. Both pay well below food service standards. Unlike gfs we run all 48ft w/o lift gate and pallet jacks. 2 wheeler and 1 god awful massive ramp. Not the folding ones. Like 1 big 20 footer that you store it in the back slides up past the tandems its a good 175lb. Our pay was topping out @1250 gross but most were down around 1100ish gross.

I was on my earsten long island 10 stop Wendy's peddle. Ronkonkoma is where I took my 10 and worked my way back towards the city. Heading west on the LIE at 730 am will make you question "where the heck did I go wrong in life"

Anyways had a backhaul to a place I've never been a small ####-hole town around newark. Got there within 10 min but I still wasn't late. Said I'd have to wait 14-16 hours to get loaded and no sir you cannot sleep on the property.

I bailed no phone calls to dispatch or nothing just put her in the dock walked straight to my car. Me and the boss butted heads prior and JPenn will tell you he's not the most easy guy to get along with. I'm real laid back on the quiet side so if I get pissed you really did something, I let most everything slide but this dude......

Anyways about 8 months later got hired back cus dispatch loved me i worked like an animal and dispatchers and most of the office gals felt the same way about king Lenny

Oh and when I came back 8 mos later me and head hancho hardly spoke 2 words to each other the entire time. Got the 2 routes I wanted. 2 time a week run a 750 mi turn and peddle the loop around Baltimore and western md.

Part of that 1250 gross you had an on time bonus (2hr window) but if you got there early and wanted to kick the stuff off you don't get you on time bonus for that stop. And you get a perfect truck bonus for grtting all the right product to each stop. That and the on time bonus was like a good 200$ so yea you need to hit that or you back down to 900-1100 gross. The driver that was doing the run was taking a helper (which they take 15% off your pay for wanting a helper. That's 30% if you take help both runs)

My conditions were ill do it w/o a helper (this was a run you actually needed one, solo you werent gonna get your on time bonus). But I get all my on time bonus no matter what and perfect truck even if I do miss deliver a few boxes. They accepted. And 2 new hand carts.

Still only did that for like 6 months and went back to the oilfield

    bzinger and Lepton1 Thank this.

And yes it's a good paying load in and out in less than a couple hours normally ...there's been 2 rate increases on it in the last 6 mos.

    Mike2633 and Brettj3876 Thank this.

I was removed from UPS's business permanently. 2:30am, I back up to dock for my scheduled drops. Have to be unloaded by 12pm when the mail starts to run, 120 mile round trip with 6 stops.

At 4am, the time I'm supposed to be at the 2nd stop, they still haven't loaded the first skid. Ask what the deal is, told I got removed from the route because I had the wrong equipment. Wtf? I've done this route before. Yeah well my truck is too large, so they're letting a smaller truck do it. Come to find out, he can't take all the pallets!

Back to me, they say I can take the 3 he left behind and be paid for the stops. Wasn't happy, because I'm going to lose money. But have to minimize the impact, I'll do. They loaded me, and in my hot temper I broke the yard speed limit, some super trucker reported me. Get a call from the dock manager my contract is being terminated and I'm not allowed to touch anything for UPS again.

Because I went 10mph in a 5mph and gunned the engine pulling away from the guard house.
