They have two drop lots in Memphis. Basically yard space that they are renting from other companies. We have a lot of freight moving through and out of there. It would be a great spot to be based out of as far as home time goes.

I don't know if they are hiring for regional at the moment. From what I've been hearing most new hires have to go into the National fleet, but I have no real facts to back that up. Give em a call and find out.

No thanks on the house...I had a house in Jackey's Creek but a divorce took care of that. I just want to get on the road and run hard now that I'm single again. Wilmington is a great place to live and I'm sure I will miss it when I'm on the road. I'm not even going to keep my apartment I have downtown...just going to stay with a relative whenever I come home and try to save as much money as I can.
I'm going to call a few companies and ask what I need to do to get back in a truck. I also stopped at CFCC Truck Driving school and they said I could take the class again and if about half way through I am doing well they would write a letter of recommendation to whichever company I want to go with. Of course I would have to find out ahead of time a company would accept that as a refresher. CFCC is thinking about getting a refresher course but do not have one as of yet.

If Crete can verify at least 2 years within the last 7 years, you might be able to get on board with some training (and no refresher). You would be in the EDD program (Experienced Driver Development). If you're really lucky, maybe ET can train you.:biggrin_25520:

    So,

A company will take from their employees earnings (underhandedly, nonetheless) to increase their profits....and the response is...

    Yeah its not so bad.

I have some friends who work for Crete, in fact work for Crete in the 15-20 year range. I've asked about the miles and they tell me that their miles are correctly paid. So, if someone thinks that they aren't paid correctly and that someone doesn't say something then... Shame on them. We all work for reward and in this case the reward is a paycheck. :biggrin_25525:
