So it sounds like Roehl is a pretty good company. Have you had any time delays in getting loads other than a few hours or a day? I mean I know that freight is slow now and should pick up in a couple of months (about when I am scheduled to start training), but is it as bad as some say?

The problem isn't just that you might wait around more than 24 hours for the load--it's that you have no idea when you might get the load, and the load itself isn't usually that great--but that's just freight right now. Going to bed at 2200 to get up at 0630 hoping for a load can screw up the load you do get at 1600 the next day, when you're expected to drive all night because you didn't start your day until then. I actually went as far as sending in my start of day time to avoid said scenario. Technically, if you're waiting to be dispatched, you're supposed to be on-duty, anyways. I can't really complain I don't get the long loads since I'm on the 7/7 program now. Maybe I'll have to figure something else out so I can get a west coast run.

    Hey there,

I'm getting ready to do my orientation in early Feb. and I was wondering about one thing with regards to Roehl....

Since I am without too many entanglements (no relationship, no ankle biters, recently relocated) I would not be adverse to staying out for a month at a time... Is that something I could work out with my dispatcher or fleet manager? or do they generally enforce home time?

Company trucks 63 on the pedal, 61 on the cruise. I know of owner-ops that run 75, not sure if they're "governed", though. If that's what you're asking.

On 7/3-7/4 I'm not real sure, but I don't think they'd have a problem with me staying out longer since I'm 7/7 and don't share the truck. I'll most likely go back to the national fleet in June, anyway.

Yeah, I live right in the flight path of that place, those C141's (i think) fly about 300 ft over my house on tabler station..pretty cool. I decided to wait till the economy gets better before trying out Roel but i will post my experiences.
