So down here in Laredo, customer lot is 15 bays long with 75 feet in front of each bay. Tight but plausible, now add in flatbeds on the right cutting 75 feet to 60 feet.
I get put in bay 11 which has no space past the spot because of additional flatbeds.
So I am literally parking in a corner, I am not allowed to blindside as per company policy, sight size is impossible.
Lot is full of active forklifts and little FedEx trucks and other parked big trucks.
I tried to talk to the yard dog but there was a big language barrier Google translate wasn't able to breach, perhaps not a Spanish speaker.
After an hour I make it out to the road and contact my DM and tell her we can't safely pickup have heard nothing for about 15 hours...
What do?

Blindside it. England actually says no to blindsiding? That is goofy.tinytim, rabbiporkchop, Justrucking2 and 5 others Thank this.
-
What choice do you have other than blindside? There isn't too much that can go wrong unless you hit a truck, or immovable objects, or you just snitch on yourself. All of that can be avoided if you get out and look. That may be England's policy, but you must remember, its only against policy if you get caught...
tommymonza, Sirscrapntruckalot, Aamcotrans and 4 others Thank this. -
If he is worried about getting fired...call dispatch say I either have to blindside this or cancel the load. Not safe enough to excute manuever. Put the ball in Englands court.
Me, unless there is a dash cam, Im blindsiding the thing.Aamcotrans, SingingWolf, rabbiporkchop and 8 others Thank this. -
You know if it's night or weekend dispatch they'll come up with an ascinine solution to the problem, or they'll just say, "We'll call someone out there to help you."
-
Yep, thats why I blindside it. Ask another driver to watch your blindside. Pay them $10 if you have to.Lab work, bryan21384 and jammer910Z Thank this.

TripleSix, Midnightrider909, Lepton1 and 17 others Thank this. -
Wait, so you've been waiting 15 hours without calling dispatch back or asking the folks in the dispatch office to get a yard dog to do it for you?
Lepton1, Opus, Aamcotrans and 11 others Thank this. -
It's 15 hours. I thought I read mins. Holy hell dude. Call your company now and tell them the situation.SingingWolf, rabbiporkchop, Oldironfan and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah. If I have an issue that I can't resolve (or more likely it's best to let someone higher up at the company handle it) I'm getting antsy if I haven't heard back in fifteen minutes. At fifteen hours? I expect to be somewhere else doing something else. Not waiting around.SingingWolf, Lab work, Woodys and 1 other person Thank this.
