Driving down 75 Left KY and drove into Tenn., and my Turbo just up and quit. No noise, no Air leaking, No busted Gaskets, It just quit. Started back up a couple of times, and I have made it as far as the Freightliner of Knotsville TN. Where they said that it needs a new one. Grrrrrrr. So Here I set at the Flying J hoping that they will have it fixed tonight, so I can continue on To Birminham AL.

I'm sure that they checked first, because they always do everything correctly, but did they check the turbo sensor. It can fail and give all of the symptoms you described, and the trubo will not work off and on until it's changed.

I'll bet ya have Detroit in it as well. Mine did the same thing. It was in and out of the shop four times in two months, and never did get it fixed. I'm not in that truck any more, so don't know if anyone finally fixed it. It seemed to be temperature related in some way. It ran good between 25 and down to 29 below, but when it warmed up to over 40, it would crap out for a few miles off and on. Not a fun time going over an overpass with 42k and slowed down to 35mph.:biggrin_25525:

Well I am now in a Motel room, They said that it should be done by 9 AM They did read off a list of problems that they came up with with it, and I do remember him saying something about the sensor, I am NO Mechanic on those things, and it bums me out that I am not.

I hope that when I go back in the morning, that they found that it was some small inexpensive item and that it'll be fixed. But I'll keep you posted. The way it sounds though, they were going to put in a new unit.
That would be nice if they ended up finding something small like that.
