Express truck tax works for me. Emails the stamped copy in only a few minutes. Print out the stuff it says to, mail check to irs in cincinnati (?). Easy. The filing fee is about $10. Not sure why anyone would stand in line to save a mere $10.

I think when I get home this weekend I will try to refile using express truck. Hope it don't screw things up.

Try Truckdues.com. Quick and easy. You will be able to print your 2290 within minutes, with the e-file stamped on it for like $8.
Highway Sailor Thanks this. -
I did it twice in 2011. I was walking paper into the Dept of Revenue to get plates and was worried they wouldn't accept an electronic copy the day of. Maybe they would, but I wasn't taking any chances of having to do the IRP office twice.
IRS wasn't terrible. Under an hour both times at the main Atlanta service center.
Now the IRP office doesn't do counter service any more, so that will never be a problem again LOL. Now you go online to register then wait for it to come in the mail. Or don't get one.Ruthless Thanks this. -
I refiled using express truck tax on Saturday. Will see how it goes.

Why would XPO need the 2290 to get the title of the truck, the 2290 should have been done the second the truck was purchased.

Good to know.... I will do that next year. I had them attach a copy to my cordanator. I sent him a copy last year so it should be ok. Thank you for the info.

You own the truck, you pay the 2290. It is attached to your vin. So if you quit and go to another carrier you are ready to go. It is prorated.
