I don't. I'm just using that as an example as it is a typical time frame for many companies.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

I got in at 11:30 today after leaving Dalton at 3 am. I have to leave out early Monday. They contend this is a weekend off.

It will take half a day to get rid of the truck at the yard or get off duty (PC with it) and get out of there. The phone should start ringing for you to leave out approx 16 hours prior to get back to work date for your appt delivery that first day at 8 am 2000 miles away.
=)
Most people do not understand home time is what you make of it. It's very expensive and costly to have home time so make it count. There was a time our house literally did not (And to this day does not) have landlines and the cell battery is being charged. It will be a while =) And the qualcomm will retrieve the stack of call me messages when I finally crank her on the first day of work sometime after midnight. (They actually know when the key is on or off in those trucks dating to the mid 90's)
I hate to be difficult but it is my experience if you expect three days at home, plan on losing half to one whole one getting there, a day at home and a day being asked you moving yet we got a delivery. -
Home time now starts about 5pm daily

My first DM told me that it is full days off.
If I delivered a load, no matter the time of day. it did not count as part of my home time since I worked that day.
I have a different DM now, but I go by that same rule.
If I work Tuesday then I get Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off (for a 3 day home time).
I come back on Saturday morning.
But, not too early.
I usually set my PTA for 1000 on the day I come back to work. I won't waste that last morning at home by getting up too early.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
And it ends when WalMart tells you to get in the bedbug mobile and head to the next DC right?IluvCATS Thanks this.

Nope. But you folks keep believing that.
A little fact every one of you should understand. Walmart just got a harsh reality check about it.
A driver decides when it is worth working to him, not the other way around.
I am on a 5 day schedule by my choice. I take days off extra when I choose.
However I am not silly enough to think that if I do not work when I am needed the work will be there when we get slow. It is a balance to get the job done, without sacrificing yourself.
