Is it just me or are things really that bad here ?I have a 53ft dry van and have been trying to get my work of the loadboards. It seems like things really went to hell after Nov.I have been on GETLOADED and the internet truckstop and have had a few good loads but now it seems like everything is too cheap to haul and work is hard to get.Been in construction for most of my trucking days and got out because work was slow and inconsistant. Is it just wishful thinking that I can make hauling freight doing a "Calif only" gig ? Any ideas would be great. thanks

It aint much better on the East Coast..

They wanna dollar a mile you to death or worse.

Yesterday, I had one broker quote $500.00 from the Bronx to Chicago..

I didn't run the rate per mile, but right off the top of my head, I'm thinking it's around 800 miles , gonna cost around 450- in fuel, another 70- in tolls..

So we would have only been $25.00 in the hole to run that trip..

    I stayed home.

And you have a dry van, flat bed is worse, there is nothing in so cal to get us back to the big dirty, we had to get 1.33 a mile to get to houston texas, which is in a even bigger hole then So Cal. LOL talk about getting rammed. The brokers are stealing our money like theifs right now.

you never want to get to texas. dallas mabey but that's about it and only because it's closer to deadhead out. I live here, everything comes in and nothing goes out. Once I get out of here I do great but like right now I've been trying to get a load out since monday and nothing so far.
