All it will cost is some assembly labor and a couple of gaskets. For the price of replacement, it is worth a shot.

I have white smoke coming from the elbow into bottom of DPF exhaust only when it regens
-
Dom, can you take a picture of your DPF/DOC and tell me where you see the smoke?
-
Yes it was coming out of the clamp that holds the elbow and bottom of DPF/ muffler together
-
Ok, there is a gasket there. You probably need a new gasket and possibly a new clamp. Smoke here is normal, this is fuel that hasn't hit the DOC yet.
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Ok thank you.. I contacted the dealer and hey said it was going to take a week to get the clamp they don't stock it.. I am having a lot of trouble finding the gasket tho
-
Gasket is very common. 4" flange gasket. International part number 3846392C1, Cummins part number - 3684359
Here is the actual International PN for the clamp, 893945R92, but we stock the Fleetrite clamp. You should be able to cross over that number to other clamp makers to find one sooner.Dave_in_AZ and dom14 Thank this. -
DOC catalyst just had to be replaced on our 2012 ISX 600. Here in Canada it was $8600!!! Add in labor and all the NOX sensors and everything else they had to do and it was 15 grand.
Cummins gave us 3 grand back, because of the numerous problems we had with that engine.
My DD15 Detroit has already had to have two dealer forced 5 hour regens for DOC face plugging......so I can see what's coming next, LOL.Heavyd Thanks this. -
I have a 2011 Prostar ISX 15 : (no def fluid) Having excessive regen cycles with really strong diesel fumes coming though in the exhaust as well as into the cab. The oil pressure was running lower than normal, a little above 20psi, and the engine shut down. cranked and made it to our shop. Changed oil and oil pressure returned to 40psi. ran a few loads fine, but then began to drop again after only a couple thousand miles, right back to 20psi and shut down again. Don't know much about the regen system. Was wondering if it can dump fuel into my oil? Or if the diesel fumes I am smelling are from it over spraying into the regen system?
