Oh I can just see the hassles this is gonna bring up.
-
The 4-wheelers will be the biggest whiners about it too.
I use hands-free while driving, but rarely make any calls. If I do need to make a call, I start the call while I'm stopped so I can find the person in my call list. Incoming are no big deal, as it's not much different than talking on the CB.
I have a hard enough time texting while I'm not in the car, I'm not about to do that while driving! -
I will only take calls while driving in situations where I am on a clear empty highway on a handsfree system. I text message when stopped at lights but never when rolling. Gps though I have been known to program while rolling if I felt the situation was safe enough. Usually codrv will program it.

the minute i get pulled over for filling my coffee cup from my 100 ounce thermos that's it I quit LOL No common sense needs to pave the way but common sense cannot be taught or shared. it needs to be earned.

Common sense aint really that common no more is it?

GA has a similar bill. GS House Bill 9 I think it is. Mentions CBs specifically but not exclusively. Sounds like they are targeting truckers to me.
-
I think they should allow a "skills test"
It's a well known fact that most drivers can eat a sandwich, while talking on the cell; shifting the trans; yakking on the CB; while telling that 4-wheeler to "get off".... -
Well like every thing else, the government is in business to make everyone life confusing... They do a great job... Why don't they just limit driving to driving and be done... That's what it will become so just get on with it. IMHO Most of the time the calls can be made while stopped, after all wht did we do before we all had cell phones? We stopped to make calls. I know how much time it saves, and I'm as guilty as the next person here. I do not always answer a call while driving, just like I don't make the calls I could until I'm stopped. I figure I have to worry about that other guy driving the mobile phone booth... They seem to already have problem seeing me so I need to pay more attention to them than I want. If common sense was common, we would not need all these laws, warning labels and such!!! Just my opinoin.
