    Are you seriously that naive?

No engine maker suggests extended idle at min 600rpm. Or ever did. 900 rpm or more is required on DEF or old school engines.

Are you naive enough to not understand that using the cruise control to set the idle up cancels the auto regen feature of cummins and paccar engines??

Once again no idle is recommended. So the modern truck requires an APU. Isn't modern emission engines great?

Mmmm, my Volvo had a "Smart Idle" system.

It idled normally like 90% of the time, but would turn itself up a little at times, and also would regen itself during the night.

    Yea, it was great.

The Detroit dd15 will do a regen even while idleing.

Ours don’t regenerate on their own unless over 35mph. Says so right in the manual

Is it telling you to do a regen in the morning after idling all night? If so, thats perfectly normal operation for the new trucks. It is a preventive regen to counteract all the idling you just did. Quit idling and it will quit asking.

    GrapeApe and SAR Thank this.

My thread is researching Pete w Paccar engine. With all due respect, I didn’t ask about your Volvo.

I’ve never had one request manuals so often though. It’s 80 degrees at night.
