Clunk Sound rt front

    I have a slight but audible clunk coming from rt front wheel area when braking loaded mt or when bobtail. Can't feel it in the steering wheel or any of the pedals but it is there. 2016 Cascadia 280k miles. All brake drums and shoes replaced as well as front wheel bearings and seals due to a leaking seal. So far I have checked wheel bearing torque and brakes. Looked over suspension and shocks looked fine. Not sure what would make the clunk sound. If you ever had a car where the upper control arm shims fell out and it clunked it sounds like that.

    jack the RF wheel up off the ground and have a friend shake the steering wheel while you look closely at tie rod ends and steering linkages/ball joints.

    if that shows nothing use either a very large lever bar or the jack and weight of the truck to slowly apply torsional and axial pressure on the hub assembly and closely look for anything that has play. things like spring hanger bushes, king pins, U-Bolts, shock absorber bushes, the spring pack itself would all be areas to start observing while applying weight/load

    You need to grease the rollers that ride on the brake shoes.

    They get ignored and cause this problem.

    It could even be a cab mount bushing or bracket that is damaged as well.

    Check for a speared spring center bolt. Look at the front of the leaf spring. Leaf with spring pin eye could be broken. Then the leaf with a loop around it could be beating around.

    This seems to be a common issue with Cascadias.

    Don't go to a dealer! Waste of time!!!11!11!

    Light brake pressure and it pulls to one side. add more brake pressure and you har the clunk and it pulls the other way. Fun in the winter. :/

    Have checked all things mentioned and others have found nothing out of order. Took it to an independent shop. It doesn't pull at all just a faint clunk and can't feel it with the steering wheel or brake pedal. My wrench is out for another few days when he back he is going to be checking it out. I just don't 100% trust the people I've taken it too.
