White that's not a very good rate, it's a far cry better from the buck a mile crowd you find in the northwest and south Florida.BoostedTeg and DSK333 Thank this.

Indeed. That's a nasty run. $900 is almost an insult. Some massive moron will move that crap though. You could take the flatter route via 270/95/495 but then you'll burn your clock up sitting in endless nuts to butts traffic and money hungry MD scales.

Have another one for you. Was doing a LS load and the shipper had an "appointment" time but didn't even begin to even look at me until nearly two hours later. I called the Agent and told them I needed some detention. He claimed I was "beating up his customer". I laughed and told him I was cancelling the load so his customer wouldn't get "beat up". He then agreed and we haggled over the rate. The funny thing is, when I asked for a revised rate con sent over he nearly went postal! I had to talk him down back to sanity. It was like dealing with my late neurotic ex. I had to make it look like it was all my fault but I had to have it in writing because I forget things. When in reality I needed it writing so I can get paid! Verbal agreements do not cut the mustard in this business. So sad these "games" must be played to do an honest day's work but if one doesn't play they get screwed.Tug Toy, Rounded_nut, whoopNride and 1 other person Thank this.

F that.
Guarantee the guy that called with a reasonable rate is no longer available at 4 PM.
I was talking to this lady that I do a few for, easy, D&H, usually you can make $800, sometimes more, a day, she called, I didn't have the hours.
There were half a dozen loads posted that were DOUBLE her rate, now hers is always there, but I told her, and I could tell she was a little shook, but I also said I didn't see anything wrong with her rate, but she would have come up I'm sure a good 30 or 40 percent to get me to take hers.
There's lots of stoopid loads posted. -
Dude if pulling a legal weight load over those speed bumps is stressing the truck then a guy needs to fix the darn thing instead of running trucks ready for the junk yard.
Again I'm not saying its a good rate, but lets not act like its bottom of the barrel stuff either. -
Just because my horse can gallop over rocks, does not mean I will do it.
A horse with a broken leg (due to over-work) is not a money maker.
I will let those who have a point to prove, go ahead and prove it.
I'll make sure I wave at them (while tow truck is hooking them), as I pass by, with my 10Klbs load at $3+/mile (dry van) and 8mpg, up/down I-68Lite bug Thanks this. -
Where do you get those loads?

My bad i would of thought July would be a busier month for refrigerated freight compared to January.
