Hey guys I have a long antenna for my CB radio that's higher than my trailer (13'6") if installed. Is this illegal or will i be fine if it's a foot or two higher than 13'6"?
Antenna higher than 13'6" legal?

A few inches wouldn’t be noticed. A foot or two? That would be asking for trouble I’d think.
ThreePedals and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Not sure about legal or no bit that antenna won't last too long in most parts of the country if you get inside city limits much.

Its just a matter of time before you find a 13'6" bridge, or perhaps one even higher in your case. You will then hear the sickening sound of your money saying goodbye
Tb0n3, ThreePedals, rabbiporkchop and 2 others Thank this. -
But what is the legality of this?
-
Mine is high.... besides hitting trees, I never had a problem.
ThreePedals Thanks this. -
It's technically not legal, but your unlikely to have any issues unless you're a dick.rabbiporkchop, Diesel Dave, KillingTime and 1 other person Thank this.

Do you have a link that shows this? If it's not legal then I might not want to risk using it lol
-
Survey says...I wouldn’t risk it, even being just an antenna.

While i don't think a whip would cause external damage, should you happen to knock out a stoplight lens, and be seen doing it, it might be a problem. Is it likely to happen. Waaaaal...... prob'ly not. But then there's the antenna itself being damaged.
ThreePedals Thanks this.
