Pop the can lid, open your hood and set it on the manifold right at the end of your day. Should be ready to go in 30 minutes. Careful, contents will be hot.

I have a portable electric skillet pan from Lowe’s. It’s a non stick pan. You need a real outlet installed in the truck to use it though.

I have a folding plastic chair, weighs about 2 pounds, And I set my cooking pan outside.

What I cook: Scrambled eggs, diced veggies, corned beef, potatoes and cheap steak. I store everything in an electric cooler, but not the eggs. A dozen eggs has a shelf life of 1 week inside the truck.

I clean the pan twice a week. It’s detachable so I usually take it to the restroom and clean it.

I remember my Daddy cooking all kinds of things on the manifold of many a vehicle in the 70s, 80s, and 90s!

He would roll up sausages and whole potatoes in tin foil, spread them around the engine and down the road we would go. Pull over an hour later in the middle of nowhere Mother would whip out paper plates and paper towels and some butter from an ice chest and we had a hot lunch.

If you buy a Crock-Pot, I recommend getting at least the 4-quart, not the 2-quart. The 2-quart fills up fast when adding ingredients and you're only supposed to fill them 1/2 to 3/4 full.

    laaylor Thanks this.

Hot plates are not very common. Microwaves & closed "lunch box cookers" are more common.
