Made it back to Hotlanta. I'll roll out around 0500 headed for Chattanooga to load. From there I roll up the money belt to Orange, TX.
It isn't due for delivery until the 14th, so hopefully I can drop it in Lake Charles and get a load out. I really don't need or want the layover pay sitting on a load.PostmanMJC, Smut, scythe08 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Made Chattanooga on time. Sitting under the rack getting loaded. A lot of rain currently.
My plan is to make the Pilot down in Meridian MS today. It's 300 miles away, and I should get in before 1700, so parking shouldn't be an issue. The solar powered truckers will still have some daylight and the 72 HR reset weekends off crew will be home. -
I pulled into a Pilot last week at 1700 and it was at least 3/4 full. Coming south out of Chicago this past Wednesday on I65 every exit/on ramp had trucks lined up pretty much into the right lane and truck stops were full. I have no idea where all of these new trucks are going to park.

That's why I like to start my day around 0300, especially in the winter.spindrift said: ↑I pulled into a Pilot last week at 1700 and it was at least 3/4 full. Not going to Texas anymore. Called our Sulfur LA terminal an hour into my trip to let them know I'd be happy to haul something out this weekend if they could deliver this on Tuesday.
Got a call back about 10 minutes later. I load Sunday and run up to Jefferson City, MO. So glad I didn't have to sit on this load until Tuesday. There's still a full day of layover between now and Sunday.
Layover pay is fine, but loaded driving pay is a lot better. -
I have read that book years ago and i still have it...Mortarmaggot said: ↑Sorry to read about your loss too. Losing mom hurts far more than friends, at least that's how it was for me.
Recommended reading is, Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. It's an odd title, which will make sense when you're done reading, but at the end the author puts forth a different way of viewing loss as he struggles with the loss of his son. Not sure if you're an avid reader, bit it's something to do on a layover.Click to expand...Mortarmaggot Thanks this. -
Decided to sit in Meridian MS for 24 hours. That makes it easy for the dispatch delay pay calculation. I'll run to Sulfur this afternoon/evening and take another long break before loading Sunday afternoon.

We might cross paths. I got a Jefferson City this week. Load Monday deliver Wed morning. Mine is a live unload. Lots are drop hook there.Mortarmaggot said: ↑Not going to Texas anymore. We just might. I have to put steam on this according to the paperwork. It also calls for 20 feet of hose. Yeah, no kidding.
Any idea where I do steam around Sulfur? My first time here. ( If product isn't already hot enough)
I'm disappointed that they don't have coffee grounds in the Driver's room. What sort of cheap terminal manager they got here? LoLLast edited: Aug 12, 2018
