got westernstar 4900fa with s60 14l.i got check engine light the other day.so i pulled up the codes.its mainly showing SPN-625 fmi 9,4.(attached pdf of codes below)
My Mechanic hooked up his laptop and found out that something is not communicating right on the j1939 communication system. We checked the terminating resistor.they are good.next he said we will have check each module to see where it’s intermittent.. have anyone had this issue in the past??it would suck to tare down the dash and find out it’s something simple.also the tractor ABS light is on.

We had an issue like this on a Freightliner FL122sd. Finally found the 1939 wires were pinched together.
We started at the rear driver side corner of the cab and followed the wires to the front of the cab, accross and through the dash, back under the passenger door, up the passenger rear Jpost, back foward above the passenger door and back to the top front center of the head liner.

Just as we found it, the driver said “I guess this did start about the time I tighten those screws up” ( talking about the front headliner screws).

Moral of the story—- start searching in an area you may have just changes!!!
