I agree, the Peterbilt fans should be paying attention. I don’t know when, if I had to guess I’d say within 2 years Peterbilt will be doing this exact same thing. Maybe sooner, the 567 has been out for several years now, that will be the new platform of the next big hood.
My KW salesman told me at the end of last year this would be the last year of the W900. I think it was back in March when the T880S was introduced, he told me then to imagine that truck with a bigger hood and that would be the replacement for the W900.
KW to discontinue W900?

What's the chances of them continuing with the w9 like they currently do with the T800 along side the t880
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
My opinion, both the t8 and W9 will be going away. If you look at the timeline of when the 680 came out and the 660 went away I wouldn’t be surprised if the t800 goes away in the next year or two, followed by the w900.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I can't see the T800 disappearing completely. I don't think the T880 is up to the task of superloads. The wide hood T800 still has the biggest radiator.

W900 is gone end of January 2019.

No, they have orders that as of now, won't be delivered until after then.Rollr4872 Thanks this.

Good news is, there’s plenty of the good trucks around to last folks like us till we either retire or die. It ain’t like we buy new stuff anyway.
Besides, if they quit making them, it just makes ours worth more.x1Heavy, Zeviander, Slowpoke KW and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just what I was told by the GM at the dealership I use.

Overdrive asked KW about this, they said it's bs they have no plans to discontinue the w9
stwik, x1Heavy, Hegemeister and 2 others Thank this. -
They’re not discontinuing the W9, but they are replacing the W900 with the W990. May not be at the end of January like I was told, although the info I have been given is pretty accurate so far, it’s just a matter of time. B cab days are numbered.x1Heavy Thanks this.
