Question? How long will the coolant heater and cab heater last at -25F before it shut down if both on together?

LOL, up in Canada, it's about -35c most of the time so it's no point for me to install one if it doesn't last for the night.

There is an easy fix to all of the Anti-idle laws.... All truckers start taking a dog with them. The first time a PETA pal see the dog panting in the heat they will claim its inhumane (humans be ######) and allow you to idle to keep the dog cool. Dern lefty-loonies. I guarantee that the ones making these laws drive home in a big SUV to a nice climate controlled home with a hot tub and swimming pool.

None of the states have the exclusion for pets.

So, take a pet with you and get fined because you did not elect to stay in a motel that allows pets?

The reality with these laws, is that they are trying to force the drivers to use the motels. We all know how easy it is to get to them in a big truck and also how many are around the docks,.

You know they'll make it illegal to take a pet with you!

i dont know what is the matter with these states, there should be a temp limit when it gets below 25 or so or above 85 the idle law should not be enforced.

Not a truck driver (yet) but getting to know a pretty good bit about this profession already.
One thing that really gets me about this idling business is that why would they hold the driver responsible for just trying to stay comfortable, the least they could do is fine the company because they should be responsible for having APU's in their trucks.

Do truck drivers in the USA have anyone or any organization at all pulling for them inside the government?

yes there is the ATA and OOIDA. But they don't really seem to do much for the truck drivers just some of the companies.
