The average Truck Driver (is a high school graduate at best) but some of them are highly educated (advanced degrees).

    Problem is, they're 'TRAPPED!'

You are 'legally' 1099 contractor as LO. BUT fine print says otherwise. Its all about taking advantage of the 'working man' and makin him a 'SLAVE!'

I Truly 'Hope and Pray' some 'BIG-TIME LAW-FIRM' takes some of these companies to the Cleaners! (and breaks them).

    ;(

unfortunately slavery isn't profitable for companies any more ..... and may be illegal. .. however as the plantation owners soon figured out that leasing out there land to people for a share of thepro ceeds and the plantation owners always get there share wether the share cropper did or not doesn't matter. . in slavery you had to take care of your workers In share cropping just get new ones ... trucking companies just follow that plan

Let me guess----'You're a Recruiter' selling LO to poor saps who don't know any better???

LOTS of good hard-working people, were tricked into that B####hit by 'Con-Artist Bullies' (just like YOU).

Let's just say that the Plantation you speak of is already dead. There is a push on in the west to eliminate certain practices of reclassifying truckers to something else that is very low pay and thus not very expensive to the Plantation.

There are certain practices that must be stopped and when it is and the employees or lease operators are properly classified then the Plantation will find that the expenses eat up most of the revenue that crosses it's fingers and will have to get out of business.

    I disagree.

Tim is 12 months old. He wets the bed. Is he dumb or is he stupid? He’s dumb. He doesn’t know. Everyone is born dumb. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being dumb.

But 20 years later, Tim is laying in the bed. He’s feeling real good, pisses in the bed. The next day, Mom asks Time about the big bed wet. Tim says, “Well, Mom...I was feeling really good and I didn’t feel like getting out of bed and walking to the toilet, so I just laid here and went with the flow.”

What’s the difference? Intelligence is required to be stupid. There’s nothing wrong with being dumb. There’s everything wrong with being stupid. Now, in that article, they’re trying to create sympathy for Mr Oliveira. Question for ya...is Mr Oliveira DUMB or STUPID? He says he ran 6000 miles and made $400. Does Mr Oliveira have intelligence?
How would Mr Oliveira respond to this?

One of the worst things that people in this industry can do is choose to be stupid (stupid is always a choice) and then look to the goobermint for help. The biggest problem with the government today is that your elected officials believe that you are STUPID. The more you look for them, the more they believe this and more “responsible” they will become for you. How are you going to complain about your wage to the goobermint? Every time the goobermint gets involved, the wages go lower. That’s the price you pay for relying on the goobermint. Figure it out!

So, Mr. Oliveira agreed to pay Prime's truck payments, fuel, insurance, maintenance costs, etc. out of his own pocket and can't understand why he's living in poverty.
More reason why Roe vs. Wade should not be overturned.

You've been here since 2014 an you think @06driver is a recruiter? LOL

Read some of his posts, he's far from a promoter of leases or a recruiter, far as I've seen anyhow.

Far as being stupid goes....I will agree with @TripleSix . One has to work at being stupid. Again...like that other thread, it all comes down to choices. Nobody forced anyone into a lease. They may have made it hard to say no, but you still could have chosen to say no. There is always a choice. This needs to be repeated till people understand that. There is always a choice. May not be the ones you want, or easy...but there is always a choice.

This is one of the biggest problems today. People can't accept they make their own choices. Accountability it's not just a big word that is fun to say. Responsibility to. Your responsible for your choice, an don't be surprised when people hold you accountable for said choices.

You are the captain of your fate.
    You control your destiny.

    Key word...YOU.

Stop blaming others an man the #### up an accept the choices you made in life.

"I had to sell drugs" - No you didn't. You could've gotten a job somewhere. You CHOSE to sell drugs.
"I had to commit that crime" - No you didn't. You chose to rob that person, or rape, or murder or assault, or whatever.
"I had to take the job with <insert whatever bad company here>" - No you didn't. You could've told them no an rode the bus home til you found something else.
"Bathroom was to far away, so I had to wet the bed" - No you chose to be a lazy dumb ### who''d rather piss on himself then walk down the hall to the bathroom.

Where is that pet peeve thread again? I need to add "People blaming others for the choices they make in their lives".

Usual disclaimer applies - All yous are general, nobody is specifically targeted. Same with yours, etc.

    Sirscrapntruckalot - Happy Friday.
