What’s the deal with the bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge?

 

Crossing the Ponchatrain? All trucks right lane both directions for 20 something miles, construction on parts, very few exits, 55 mph speed limit. To sum it up, it sucks, although you can look out and see alligators sometimes.

It has been a few months since I have been across it, I avoid south louisiana if possible.

Wasn’t sure if you knew what in the #### they are doing down that way or what the detour is...

Been checking Google Maps since this morning looks like they got both sides completely shut down...

Bad wreck this am. Tanker flipped over onto the concrete barriers- cab is on the barriers. Probably during the bad rain something caused him to roll it. It’s been like that since about 8am this morning when i passed it.
