I’ve never had an issue getting ahold of him, and my radio isn’t a SSB unit, it’s one he worked on a while back. Nice that you’ll resurrect an old thread. Just sayin

If the message involved questions, he'll never respond. He doesn't answer questions unless the answer is paid for.

Thats too funny, actually pathetic, could you imagine if a car dealership or appliance store conducted business with the same policy ( attitude) they wouldnt sell anything. Now if someone is trying to pick his brain and abtain free advice with no intent on making a purchase I can understand his attitude( still childish) but if an individual is serious about making a purchase and asking questions like, what is being done to the radio? or what performance can I expect after tune? in my opinion those are legitimate and valid questions that deserve a professional response, its called salesmanship.

Car dealers don't have 100 people lined up willing to pay any price for the same car. What IS pathetic, is when there are 100 people lined up waiting for service, the guy spending 100 buck feels more important than the guy spending 2000 bucks. 80% get turned away. It's like comparing a Hennessey Performance 1500hp Dodge Demon to a guy who can't wait his turn or who wants to save a buck so he goes to Autozone and buys a K&N air filter, and he can't figure out why the Hennessey Performance Dodge Demon beat him in the quarter mile by a full 5 seconds.

If he is that busy and cant accomadate all those that desire his service maybe his puppets should stop promoting him on a Truckers Forum.

Anybody with any sense and that many people lined up would hire and train a couple more techs. Unless of course they are a control freak

I wouldn't call it promotion so much as putting things into perspective.
By showing the maximum potential people can figure out how well they are doing in relationship to maximum potential. Without understanding maximum potential people don't have a clue how well they are doing.

Is that what he told you? You guys must be close if he's communicating his desires.

Normal business etiquette is to respond within a reasonable amount of time to prospective customers to let them know if you can help them or not. 24 or 48 hours is common.

If he wants to remain a little one-man operation in a residential basement that's fine. At least have the common courtesy to send out a statement instead of having "hundreds" of people waiting in line on stupid Facebook

Adhering to normal business etiquette isn't his thing. He does what he wants to do and people that don't like what he does get blocked. If you understood much about business you would understand why he does what he does.
The majority of truck drivers don't follow a specific procedure of troubleshooting antenna systems before connecting a radio and then when they blow up the radio they want to send it back for warranty work even though it was their fault the radio blew up to begin with.
As a business, it makes perfect sense to screen out those potential problem customers before they become a problem. Deliberately avoiding people who think they are special is one way of avoiding warranty work. He carefully screens people and and looks at their psychological profile to determine if they might be a problem customer in the future and if he suspect that is the case he will ignore that person. There's lots of dishonest people out there and those are the worst people to do business with. If you were in the business, and one of your customers deliberately sabotage the radio you sent him, wouldn't you be a little upset? There's lots of people like that out there and if I was in the business I would try to avoid people like that. Choosing smart customers with integrity over dumb customers with no integrity is one way of ensuring that you have happy customers.
