My 2014 730 has 530,000 miles on it. When I start the truck in the morning it fires right up. After driving for a while and I stop for fuel or something and shut the truck off. Come back out after a few minutes and go to start the truck it cranks but doesn’t want to start. It will eventually start and run fine. No loss of power. No change in fuel mileage. Just doesn’t want to start after it gets hot.

Either a bad starter or more likely a bad ground connection. Probably on the block to the frame.
Cheapest thing to check at least. -
I will have to check the ground on it tomorrow. Just seems like it’s cranking good just not starting
-
Oh, okay. If it’s cranking fine then ya, some other issue.

Probably injector cups. Google D13 injector cups and you will see how common it is. Unless you are loosing fuel pressure somewhere, it’s probably the cups.
KB3MMX, 86scotty, Justrucking2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is the exact, common symptoms of bad cups on a Volvo.
You're in the early stages of the leak development.... It will eventually get to where it's much worse ... Starting and loss of power , possible stall under load..
.BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -
If it was injector cups it would do it when it’s cold also I thought

Probably need injectors and cups as others have said. To decrease wear and tear on the starter etc use the manual fuel priming pump on the drivers side above and in front of the compressor, has a cap that looks like a turtle shell sort of(that's how the mechanic told me about it lol). Push down and twist cap, then not too fast pump until there is resistance and immediately start your truck. You can do this for awhile but do not do it for too long.

I really don’t understand cause it doesn’t do it all the time. Stopped for fuel today turned it off filled the truck and jumped back in and started right up. It’s like it does it sometimes and not other times. I can let it sit all weekend and it will start right up. Seems like when it’s hot it will do it once in a while.
