This is such a stupid response. Who are you to judge this offender?

And, we should change the narrative here. Why call people "felons"? Why can't they be called "People with felony convictions"? As a country, we need to humanize people rather than demonizing people. If you think of it, if the "Euro" guys didn't habitually sexually abuse countless slave women, the vile act may not have ever been introduced.

Yeah, and it's no different than any felony (or misd) conviction... follows forever. It's all a social justice thing. These laws are necessary to keep certain demographics of people in an oppressed position - even if small percentages of other groups are affected.

You're blinded by your own experience and I'm sorry you had to experience abuse - no child or adult should be victimized in this way. With that said, this is America and we have a system of law. If someone has made a mistake and paid their debt to society, who are we to diminish any possible avenue for economic prosperity? You'd seriously rather support an ex-offender out of your own taxes / pocket rather than carving out an economic opportunity for them to earn money themselves? Not every offender will re-offend. It's all about opportunity.

I hope this doesn't come across as me being an offender / sex offender myself. In my main job, I earn a whole lot of money protecting the rights of all people - even those that are marginalized here on this thread. I just searched "sex" in the search box to see about people's stories on the truck stops and I happened upon this thread. And, I'm disgusted at the lack of humanity and compassion.

    Lastly,

I keep reading this.... but public urination is NOT a sex offense. There's no SEX. If there's anything that we learned from the law (based on the definition of "sex" during the Bill Clinton days), there must be penetration involved.

    Adieu Thanks this.

In thirty years as a cop...not one time...not once was someone who urinated in public (unless they hung it out at a school and did their dicky waving at kids) ever prosecuted as a sex offender OR required to register.

It may have happened somewhere...but it's like that unicorn, and it would have to be an aggravating charge for a repeat offender.

That's just a weak as "I thought she was 18".

Finally, someone with some real experience and common sense on this topic. I could not believe how people just went in on this topic of urination in what was a sincere question asked by someone who simply wanted to know something.

As a former LEO, I would love to hear your perspectives about limiting opportunities for people convicted of certain crimes (felonies, sex offenses, etc.) but I'm kinda scared to ask. LEOs don't usually have the best optics when expressing their ideals regarding social justice issues.

There are far more worse things to do than urinating in public, some have no choice because as things go downhill, when you have to go you are going. It is not sex, it is just getting rid of waste. They should go after those who still throw them ciggerate butts out the window into that tall brown grass on the side of the roads, then should I get into politics?

Yes, go change the world by drafting laws and convincing your colleagues to sign it.
