I have a 1998 International 9200i. Everything was fine till went to the dealer to pick up parts and for some stupid reason I asked the tech to see if he can hook up the computer to see if there are any stored codes. He did, and no codes stored. Left the shop and after short time both ABS and TRAC lights came on. Any ideas what could it be?
I did have ABS light on before when I bought the truck, I did the magnetic reset of the ABS box and it worked. Light went away. Drove 300 miles, put on the front pads, drove another 1100 miles and that is when I stopped by the dealer shop and both lights came on...
Any help greatly appreciated.

yup very funny... ha ha ha...
I never said they did anything wrong, actually they were very nice for hooking it up at no charge. I don't blame anyone here. Its an old rig and stuff comes up all the time. I am just looking for any pointers or direction where to look to fix it if anyone knows. Don't need ######## remarks. -
Did you check for wheel seal leaks, and wheel end play? Whats the code? And if both are on, it sounds like a computer issue of some kind. Because the trac light should only be on if the wheel is spinning and go off. (Unless it’s the YAW sensor that set it off)
Try finding the abs computer, unplugging the harness and cleaning with some good electrical cleaner and maybe some dielectric grease when putting it back it. If that don’t do it maybe check the harness for cut or chaffed wiring.
Need to know the code though -
Does your unit have the Bendix box on it with all the LEDs on the side? If so which are lit with the fault active? All service info for this system is free download on Bendix website.

Is probably what it is, (to search on the internet with). Says ecu not communicating I guess. One website site that “no action required”, that it’s just for reporting only. https://www.justanswer.com/medium-and-heavy-truck/brsdz-trac-contol-light-on-code-136-f14-sid254-a-2006.html
Idk for sure though.Eldoradoexpress Thanks this. -
I got mine fixed. Try free and easy fix first. Take a magnet and find the ABS computer. Mine is behind the cab on the right side frame rail. With ignition in ON position, Slide the magnet over the box and you should see a light flash on the box. That would reset the computer. If that does not work then you have to find someone that has a computer that can go inside and resolve the issue. Ours out of nowhere reprogrammed itself to think that the sensors were not installed. Went to TruckPro and they fixed it in 5min.Eldoradoexpress Thanks this.
