Okay okay hold it for a minute. Are you guys talking about that emissions thing that's in the exhaust?

Now I know that I'm a dinosaur and I know that I'm all about the big cam Cummins and I'm all about mechanical engines.

But are you seriously telling me that in addition to all the emission junk sensors computer garbage wiring and all that, that exhaust system it can cost $8,000 when my truck cost a few dollars for flexible pipe?

What a worthless piece of garbage. You find something better sitting in an old scrap yard someplace.

Hell, I can buy a whole new engine for $11,000.

That is the worst piece of horse dung ever created by morons and idiots. Who the hell would pay $8,000 to have their exhaust fixed?

You might as well give your wife $10,000 to go get her nails done.

    Complete and total stupidity...

What’s worse is that usually after you give the dealer $4k to $10k for the repair..........

The second shop 1000 miles later on the other side of the country charges you another $4000.00 to fix what the first shop ####ed up!!!

So not out of the question to spend $15000.00 easy.

Seen it with my own eyes.

    That's what gets me.

How the hell is anybody supposed to make money when you have stuff like that going on?

And you know if that truck has some kind of crazy computer problem on top of that you can add another five or $10,000 on top of that and then if he had a mechanical problem on top of it... I think if I keep adding you're looking at paying off a mortgage.

I realize that you probably don't replace that kind of thing very often, but even one time is too much to spend on something like that.

You know, they should tell you that the price of the truck is $150,000, but because of all the junk and all that it's going to cost you they should sell it to you for $75,000.

Absolutely ridiculous. Makes me very happy to be a dinosaur.

I have seen several shops and dealers lately that will no longer accept any credit cards for repairs. Too many people calling and getting the charges reversed claiming fraudelent charges. Once more a few bad apples ruin things for the rest of us. Need cash or a check now.

You will need a adequate credit rating probably in the region of 700 and up for something that big. And at 24% interest it's not ideal.

A alternative is to pawn the truck and repay in 90 days.

If you don't have the money, you are experiencing a business destroying event. Sell the truck for what you can get out of it and pay off what you owe and then start over when you have adequate savings from working somewhere else as a company driver.

The emissions BS by Dinosaur writing is exactly how i feel. mid 1970's all over again when Detriot motors turned out truly #### cars.

I owned a 1970 and 1971 V8 engines with straight through glasspipe exhaust, headers, highrise, dual pump holley and so on and it was one of the best engines ever. 310 horse on one and closer to 420 on the other which was really good for it's day, never ending pull at top end most especially. Nothing emissions in sight. No computer anything. Just distributor cap coil and points to fire thing with a monster ignition coil. (Which is probably a solid state circuit capable of firing large voltages fast as in milliseconds fast)

The best 18 wheelers ever in my lifetime were natural breathing diesels. Everything else added on since 1995 is flat government mandated BS that really hurt everything.
