I've been through Wilkes Barre a couple times and had a pleasant stay behind a couple of stores. Nice and quiet and walk to a restaurant and beer store. Not sure why you guys go out of your way to stay in a truck stop but I'm sure glad you do!

I just about guarantee the little sign under thee 22 ton says -combinations 40 ton. PA is famous for that, It's probably a short bridge over a ditch.

I think that one says 28 ton.

A bridge is a bridge. I used to cross a 6 ton bridge with a 18 wheeler full loaded many times. There was a fire department sign on the ground at the post that had tandem and axle ratings similar to my own. That bridge has been replaced since.

All bridges have a element of risk. I remember a 10 tonner deck drawbridge near New Haven You don't put loaded 18 wheelers on that one.

I went over there last week to Philips from Pocono Summit and was told to take 80 west then get on 309.

Don't take 437 if you have a trailer

So it sounds like I could make the trip if I was bobtail, which is about 50-50 odds after dropping a load at this place. Good to know!

I also am in Mountain Top,PA a lot at Mission Foods. There's a truck stop right in Mountain Top called Blue Ridge Travel Plaza. Has showers, Buttons sit down or take out food. Truck parking for maybe 20 trucks. There's a park-n-ride across the road from it that I've seen a lot of trucks park at as well when lots full at truck stop. 20180825_102357.jpg 20180825_102332.jpg

I dont understand this sign. I have not seen it until I moved to PA. So, 102” is 8.5 feet. A trailer 8.5’ long? Is this a bridge law issue? Fill me in, please.

You can only pull the older 96" trailers down that route. Likely a tunnel up the road that a wider trail will not fit in...
