Here is one I kept a picture of. This was in June 2017 truck paper. Someone that wasn’t looking a year ago would never believe it today. EAC89385-6412-4C07-980A-E73D623D7E76.jpeg

The green ones with the 13 spds ($99,900) were in truckpaper October 2017 I think?

I know someone that bought 3, might have been 4, got them for 94 out the door.

All are coming up on 250K to 300K miles with 0 issues, other than steer tires, and they went round and round about that, and the Goodyear rep finally knuckled under and gave them new tires.

Lone Mountain used to have in stock, NICE W900's, 579's ( I think, I get Pete's mixed up ), 780's, Cascadia's, all new, some heavily trimmed out.

    GONE.

    LOL

This is a serious indication of a future steep downturn. When? 1 year from now? Perhaps February of 2020? Lots of repod trucks to buy then. When the rates are lousy hard to convince yourself to buy anything, on the other hand.

It's a ticking time bomb. Lol

I predict by the time all these new trucks on back order become available. There will be some bargains to be had. Lots of people will change their minds. Lots will be broke and gone under...

I have seen this movie before, quite a few times in fact in the last 30 yrs.

Now is the worst time to buy used trucks. Their prices will drop to mid 40s again when 2 dol a mile will become a norm again. If someone is determined to go for a new truck, then I don't think the price will drop too much. Only availability will become better. As a comparison, in 2014 I wanted a piece of pie too as the rates in 2014 were proclaimed as historically excellent and I bought my first and current truck for 55K at Arrow Truck Sales financed by Transport Funding at 15%.
In 2016, I could've bought a similar 5 - year old truck with the same or even less mileage for 40K.
Everybody remembers how lousy rates were in 2016...buying equipment at that time was so counter intuitive. But, If someone had the plan to expand their fleets with used trucks, that was the best time.

Why don't you get a glider and have a shop you know and trust build the engine for you and have them ship it to the glider builder. I think that's what I'm going to do. Last 2 trucks I bought as lease returns at 300,000 miles and had lots of spendy things go wrong. I'm fussier than most and do all my own greasing and oil changes etc. I think how a truck is taken care care of in its first few years dictates it longevity
