When taking Class A CDL does your truck alone have to weight 26001 or is that with trailer hooked up with it

Class A allows you to operate a vehicle in excess of 2600 pounds either singly or in combination

Combined weight has to be more than 26,001 lbs with a trailer more than 10,000 lbs to qualify for a class A.
That is weight ratings, not actual weight.
What were you hoping to use? More than likely we can tell the pros and cons of any combo. You might have to worry about restrictions like 5th wheel and air brake depending on unit tested with.Oldironfan and jammer910Z Thank this. -
