Research the “True Cost of Trucking” from ATRI and other industry mags. You won’t be taking home the kind of money you make now for the first couple years as you capitalize the business. After that, you can begin increasing compensation. Be careful who you ask for advice, if they say they average $4 a mile and their cost are $1 a mile, it’s not, and there is no data to support it. I don’t like misinformation and seeing people get suckered in with the promise of big money. It’s good money but you don’t get rich in trucking, unless you’re publicly traded or a member of the Mormon Mafia.

 

It's easy to make a small fortune of 1 million in trucking.

Start with a large fortune of 2 million.

 

But the interest on the credit card debt far exceeds whatever interest he could be making on savings. He should pay the card off ASAP .

 

I concur, stay where your at! Bank the money, let someone deal with truck cost, and worries.
