I can’t sleep in the truck. I get a cheap room. It comes out about the same if u idle your truck 10 gals of fuel is 30 to 35 dollar idling per night. Shower is 12 to 14 bucks. That’s 49 bucks. I can usually get a room for 60 with cdl discount. To me $11 dollars a night is worth it so I don’t have to piss in a bottle or walk a mile to rest room. This for owner operator

Most mortgage companies pay your insurance and taxes on their asset and figure it into your payments

Not us. We were Homestead Act. We paid the insurance and taxes.

The one thing the Mortgage did on our account was hold escrow. That is one reason (Or several) good reasons to get the house free and clear asap. Took us 6 years into a 15 year term. They were difficult because a outright paid in full on the balance due would cost them something like 9 years interest etc. So it took about 4 months to force the federal wire into the account and extract the deed and paid in full letter etc. Filed that into the courthouse.

Once that was done, we further ensured I was part owner not only by marriage but including me on the deed.

We were happy to have been home owners and all that. It was a touch of a American dream that were able to do at that time. Student loans pretty much erased the house, with it being sold off to pay back uncle sam. It was a failed effort in every way.

I meant if someone fails to pay taxes or insurance the mortgage company will pay it because of course the house is their asset. Then bill it back to the lender

Wow guys thanks for all the advice. About the house its been owned for years and was supposed to be handed down to my mom but my grandfathers sneaky girl friend put herself in the deed. Another girlfriend was staying there when he passed away. My mom offered them 6 months to move. They never did and so she did nothing. So up until i figured out that for her to do anything legal about the squatters she had to have some ownership, the people staying there were just paying the utilities. When i inquired it was one month from being foreclosed by a company that buys properties because of unpaid property tax. My heart sunk. But i set-up a payment plan.
My mom also had to pay a $5,000 water bill which the company originally only estimated would be around $1,000. (The sqautters stole pipes and water was just pouring into the basement.

I don't live in a truck, but I have lived in a van down by the river. That was an interesting time in my life when I was a motivational speaker for misguided teenagers. This one guy was some panzy, writer or poet or something. I said, so. your mother tells me you haven't been using your paper for writing poems, but for rolling doobies. That was probably 1993 or 1994, I want to say. Anyways, a few years later I got my penthouse in downtown Chicago and began consuming more drugs and alcohol than anybody I knew. It was an all time low. Now, I'd like to say I made it out of that alright, but the fact of the matter is I overdosed on heroin and crack, and alcohol. The hooker i was banging cut out on me in the middle of the night and they found me dead in the middle of my floor partially decomposed, a few days later. Fame will do terrible things to a person

Just have to be sure to get out and socialize regularly. After too many weeks my social skills start to suffer.

Are there different options for people to have a cheap home address or something to put on your license as your residence? Maybe just be a very cheap and mostly absent roommate?

I don't think you can put a Post Office Box or UPS Store Private Mail Box as your home on your license.

The OP might be able to just keep using him mom's house as an address whether or not he continues living there or takes breaks at motels.

After 9/11, things became stricter in terms of having a physical mailing address:
Need Physical Address without living anywhere

Basically, you going to need a close friend or family member to use their address as your own. Or buy cheap land, and stick a mailbox on it.
