Now you tell me. I'd spent hours meditating to find truth and beauty in Saddle's posts out of an abundance of caution. He either had a direct mystical link to higher powers or the peyote was kicking in.

Kinda miss his ramblings. I wonder how he is. I think he suffered the loss of a family member that had him so cynical.

My longest deadhead has been about 700 miles. I am paid percentage. My company usually charges enough (for the most part, but there are the cheap loads) to factor in the lost revenue from that far of a deadhead for a driver to still make decent money on it. I deadheaded from North Carolina back to Illinois.

And if I am on a load from the house I usually have to deadhead at least 90 miles a day just to get loaded. Not to mention return trip. Just part of my job. If I start to think about getting paid for it, it takes all the fun out.

I'm thinking I've come to realize the carrier I work for on w4, cpm, under dispatch is not paying me for Dead head home, or from home to next pick. I was never told no pay for home or out from home under dispatch. So I'm thinking this company is a POS. I've just been looking at my mile pay for trips. No home, or from home pay while under dispatch.

Guess my next post will be a bad company post.

CPM sucks IMHO. I don't mind unpaid deadhead IF there's a good paying load on the other end, because I am paid a percentage.

If you are paid on coming, then you expect compensation for actual miles driven. If you are paid a percentage of revenue, then it doesn't matter if you take the long way, or deadhead, etc., because the focus is on maximizing revenue per week.

Only crap companies, will not pay for DH.
Or reduced rates for DH. (for mileage pay (CPM) based drivers, when loads are assigned by the Company)

I don't think a Driver should get paid to drive home unless it's really far maybe 600 mile DH or something.
But when going back to work should get paid from Home to next PU.
Even if it's from the same city as last drop.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
