I never said I hated Volvo trucks just modern engines. Put a series 60 in on and that would be great.

The new stuff doesn't scare me as much as it use to as far as Volvo. I have several friends with them and I had mine 4 years. Mine was the oldest and none have had any emission issues.
Our company trucks are Crapcadias and they are still emission nightmares. Would touch one with a 10ft pole.

Now a pre 04 ddecIV 60 series 12.7. All day. My glider has one and its a great engine. And crazy good fuel mileage.

Just find a good older Volvo with bad engine or something. Or one without engine that's looks like new, and get a series 60 to put in there?

There is one for sale right now for 15k. 770 with 500hp Detroit and 13 speed. 1999 engine. Dream truck haha. I just started to rebuild my 2001, otherwise I would probably have bought it

Would it be too crude to ask how much you paid for it? I'm trying to decide between the Volvo or the Cascadia. Western Star is intriguing me also.

BIGHOSSCUMMINS - How did/is your VNL760 doing? Going to buy a 2019 with the D13 and iShift and would like to know what issues you have had if any? Thank you

    Hey dude,

So far my truck is doing great, I have the D13 (500hp/1850tq/Ishift 12 speed OD/13.2 Hendrickson Front Axle, Super 40 Meritor Rears with 3:36 gears, running 11R22.5 Michelin XDN2's on the drives, and Z+'s on the steers.

The issues that have come up thus far are.

-Both Steer tires were defective, both out of round and square, Michelin paid a tire shop to replace and road force balance the new ones.

-I had small coolant leak between the coolant bottle and manifold, the hose was cracked under the clamp. Volvo tightened it, and then when it was still leaking, replaced the hose and both clamps.

-The driver side power window seals were all screwed from factory, and was causing binding and slowing the window down. Volvo replaced all the seals and slides, and also replaced the window switch assembly on the drivers door.

-The fridge door was not even close to being aligned or holding the cold in, Volvo has messed with it 2 times already, but the manufacture has now admitted they made the first 5-6000 fridges faulty, so they will all have to be replaced.

    - I had my leveling valve explode while bob tailing in Winnipeg MB, this might have been my fault, as the Winnipeg MB roads are the worst in North America. But that truck rides so nice, I was doing the speed limit, never do the speed limit in Winnipeg. Volvo directed me to one of their lease centers and they replaced it right away. They also adjusted the rear ride height, as it was a little high.

-The factory seats SUCK! not just the seat it self, but the suspension system. I called Volvo North America, and they kinda agreed'ed, but didn't offer a solution. However, they did tell my dealer, they would absorb some costs, if we decided to swap out the seats. The dealer happened to have a set of National Legacy Comfort Pro Silvers in my colour collecting dust in the showroom. We ended up making a deal to swap the stockers out, for the same price it would have cost to order the truck with those seats (installed). I thought it was a fair deal. You can order these trucks with either the National Comfort or Sears Atlas Seats.

-Make sure to order the APU prep package, it doesn't cost anything, it makes the driver side fuel tank 135G to make room for the APU, and adds junction box at the batteries for easy tie in. If you get an APU, ONLY get a Thermoking! They are the only ones doing a "plug and play" setup for the Volvo. Everyone else is doing a "universal" setup, and it's a god #### disaster! I have the carrier comfort pro, and the mess they made installing it, Volvo needed over a week to get it sorted out. Luckily I did the APU through the dealer, so they had to deal with it and eat the costs, then back-charge Carrier. I will NEVER own an APU other than thermo king after this.

Other than that, its the wonder truck! Love the bed, love the stereo, love how it rides and drives, love the motor, love the transmission, LOVE the turning radius, ABSOLUTELY LOVE how it backs up, OMG No ####ing around with settings or modes or anything. Put it in reverse, backs up like a manual! No jerking or rocketing backwards, just love it. Be warned tho, it turns very quick, so it takes some time to get used to it backing up; I still need some practice lol. My average pulling various dry vans with skirts, without skits, and various brands of tires between 60K and 80K gross is 7.8mpg US over 20 000miles doing LTL; driving 65-72mph. I could prob do better if I slowed down some, or if more of the trailers I was pulling had skirts or a diffuser. I keep all my tires aired up to spec daily (including the trailer).
