I keep wondering why drivers still use 59 too
49 is beautiful and misses some nasty scales.
79 to Carthage
After that you're back on sucky 59

Lol
The yellow on them things is like 1.5 seconds
I've been 1st in line and still looked up to see red halfway through. -
79 from Carthage to Shreveport, 220 loop to 79. They haven't connected 49 to the 220 loop yet, so run 79 up a few miles and follow the 49 detour. Runs all the way to 30. No more sucky 59 after Carthage.Rusty Trawler Thanks this.

I was talking bout going south, Triple
After Carthage you get all the garbage in Doches and Lufkin
But yep, going north, bail off 59 onto 79Final Drive Thanks this. -
Im gonna give that route a try tonight...

Hey guys
I see some of you posted tips about those darn red light camera traps
First time I went to Texas was from Little Rock to Houston by Marshall. I was hauling 45,000 lbs of cargo and couldn’t stop in time for the red light that came out of nowhere. In a second it changed from green to red.
I got a ticket in the mail I must pay now. Company gave me that routing by 59. Will never go by again.Last edited: Sep 10, 2018

Just an FYI - Nacogdoches is getting a new truck stop on 259 North in Central Heights. About a 1/4 mile north of the existing Chevron truck stop. They just cleared the land and construction is about to start. My understanding is it will have a Whataburger inside and a donut shop next door.x1Heavy and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Now I remember.
Texas 59 to Houston is a nice quiet road in my time. There should only be about 8 major lights north and south through Marshall, give or take a few.
Getting to it from Little Rock? Well.. there is a small two laner coming south into Louisiana from before Hope off I-30 which if turned a certain way to the west ends up behind the coop on 20 and thence to 59 for a easy ride south. Louisiana gets really busy in DOT on that corner though of the state.
As far as the fine, just pay it. It wont be the first or last. I live in a state where traffic enforcement cams by and large are banned. Probably for not too much longer. One solution to that would be to move to a even more desolate county with nothing at all to worry about.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
I'll beat my red light ticket. Went in and fought it. It's unconstitutional end of story.. I told the judge to prove I was behind the weel and if they couldn't then they can't charge you. Remember the burden of proof is with the state or city to prove. It's easy to just pay it yeah it is. But I am a person of principal. Plus they can't compel you to tell em who was driving.. it worked for me 7 times now. Best part is no lawyer needed. Just to stand up
Truckermania Thanks this. -
The ones in Arizona take a picture of the driver too.Davidajhamlin1983 Thanks this.
