I'm at prime now. They have no trucks available for recent "graduates" and you either stay on your trainers truck and get extra pay (if you ask about it) or sit and wait without pay.
Basically I feel like cheap labor. The trainer makes anywhere from 2000 to 9000 dollars and you make 700-1000 if they remember to pay you extra every week because they suck at payroll. -
9k in a week? C'mon, man LOLTexas_hwy_287 Thanks this.

It just happened. One job was processed for the next week and missed the cut off time by an hour or 2. It was gross by the way. We ran like a team. But choose to believe what you're making is average.

Then he didn’t generate $9k of income, he got a $9k check because he missed the cutoff.

The thing about most TNT trainers giving you extra bonuses out of their pockets because they're feeling nice is definitely not reality. Not sure where you got that info. In my time training there, I had heard of this happening in a couple instances but it's definitely not the norm. Don't have those expectations of your trainer.
The other thing, the fuel bonus, while you should definitely be able to hit some form of a bonus in those trucks, don't start expecting as part of your weekly income that you're going to hit 9-10 MPG or whatever it is that you need to get several extra CPM. If you start having those expectations then you're going to resent your FM when assigns you 48k in the box or he sends you across Colorado.
It's important to temper expectations when you first start in this industry.
Prime is a great place to start though if you can't afford to pay for training at a third party school. I got my start there and had a good experience. -
Can anyone tell me how long PSD training might last if I already know the complete pre trip inspection inside and out? I mostly need instruction on driving and maneuvering which I have always been good at with my Class B in a straight vehicle. I know it’s different than a tractor trailer, but I have good aim and judgement is all I’m sayin lol
I begin PSD in 2 weeks
