I’ve casually been on and off of here for the past 3 years. You’ve guys have asked and answered a lot of questions I had (learned quite a bit). Thanks a lot by the way. I already own a 2013 389 signed on with a carrier pulling tanks. I’ve got my eyes on a 85 exhd 359 for $25k. I plan to get my own authority by the end of the year. Might be a little while to where I’m able to stand on my own two feet with it, but wouldn’t hurt to obtain it now. Anyways I was wanting to know of any carriers to where I could sign an eld exempt truck on or am I faced with having to run under my own authority?
Potential 359 purchase

Insurance has to be in place to activate Authority .You can apply and get approved and they give you I think 30 or 60 days or its dissolved

That I will have in place when that time comes. I’m lost as to what my options are these days. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most of the carrier's want e log.

They’re small outfits that’ll lease on older trucks. You’ll just have to search the web and look around local. It took me a month to find what I was looking for when I left the previous carrier. I’m running a 94 379 and had four that I talked to that had no problem with age of truck as long as it passed dot inspection.

Well that seems like that’s what I might end up doing. The carrier I’m with now for my other truck says they could put an elog to it, ( just needs a power and ground) but that’s with the one they’re using. Idk if others setups will work.
