Got a quick clean Level 3 in far western Ohio on WB I-70 today. Had just started to rain a bit, he was just doing random stops launching from an onramp to stop at the next off ramp. He was cool about. Told him I was trying to get to the Pilot 15 miles down the road with the 22 minutes I had on my 70. He apologized and said if he had a way of knowing I had so little time, he'd have not bothered me. But he gave me a pointer on where I could get to to take my break a few exits down, finished the report, and sent me on my way, and the break stop worked out fine.

I had a random level 3 pullover in Connecticut a few weeks ago. All was well, but nothing like cop lights flashing in the mirrors to freak out about.

How's your progress going on the Jersey to Vernon load?
-
Ran out of hours in Cuba, MO Friday with a short 7 hour day. Will run out at Flagstaff or maybe Williams Sunday afternoon, but pick up 11 hours to run to the noon appointment Monday.
JZ80 Thanks this. -
That's a tight run. Love how 7 hours is a short day in the trucking world.

Got in and out of the Vernon receiver okay. Sommer sent a preplan a few hours prior to the final but preceded the preplan load with a message "will be working on a swap". Never talked to her. Emptied and headed to hotel. Next pickup is in Irvine next morning at 10:00, to SLC 1.5 days later. Not sure what she has in mind. I have no problem with the SLC load. It gives me a breather but maybe somebody needs it for home time who is also coming into SoCal and she just needs me to make the pickup appointment? Whatever. It's all good.
That's another of the good things about Holland, they take care of their accounts, their appointments, and their drivers and sometimes it's a delicate juggling act but they normally do a great job making everything come together, that's fair for all parties. -
As a driver at Holland, how frequently (or otherwise) do you find yourself at shippers/receivers w/ difficult-to-access docks? Examples: tight alley docking, backing into docks from the street, or backing into docks adjacent to a parking lot filled with 4-wheelers. I don't mind live loads/unloads and some of the waiting around involved (I get a lot done during that time), but challenging docking maneuvers significantly lessen my quality of life as a driver. Holland appeals to me quite a bit from what I've read here, but hoping to get a better idea of what things are like once you reach the customer.

In cab recording devices? Please show us the evidence.
ROFL. That's a good one.
They have forward facing cameras only
Why did you sign up for per diem? I'm making 44 cents a mile with out it. And i don't have to worry about whether or not all my payroll taxes are being paid.
On per diem, they company doesn't have to pay all the payroll taxes. -
Per deim at Holland is not forced. It is strictly Opt In.

Been with Holland 8 years.
And Per deim is NOT FORCED. Strictly Optional.
