OP, I completely understand you carrying in the States even though it's against company policy. However, I highly recommend that you not take that firearm into Canada. Is your job forced dispatch? If not, tell them you'd rather not go. If you end up up having to go then get a hotel room and keep it there until you get back to the US.
TripleSix Thanks this. -
I would celebrate, never being forced into that third world country full of " do gooders" . Then again, they do have nice deer.
-
Sounds like you could do it, if you have $15k in the bank you dont need, dont want to drive to canada anymore, dont mind having some free room and board in a canadian jail, want a felony on your record, want to get fired, and not be able to gat another driving job......just be prepared is all.

Do you sit in the cab while they do the gamma ray scan?
-
Only if they are using the mobile. Scan starts about 4 ft behind the cab. CBSA will have you exit the truck and scan the whole rig.
-
Gamma is penetrating, but half life of Gamma is not that bad. It's gone after a short time.

Depends on the money. Those big oil refinery jobs in Northern Alberta can pay company drivers owner operator numbers. It's a freakin hard life...you do have to be fairly tough...but the money can be downright obscene!peterbilt_2005, rabbiporkchop, not4hire and 1 other person Thank this.

Been awhile...

I've been driving for 5 years, and the way people talk makes it sound like I should have been killed multiple times by now, because I don't have a minigun mounted on the front of my truck
