I'm an exper.owner opp located in western PA......clean MVR...never failed a drug test...no restrictions.
I just continue to have problems pulling for companys that won't give me miles to run and won't pay O/O's....I'm sick of the games they play and the heavy ### freight they make us pull....theres gota be some good freight out there with some decent rates.
Any REAL leads would be appreciated...Thanks

Don't burn any bridges guys. This is a national freight crisis. You should know this. You can't just blame the company for not conjuring freight out of thin air. It affects everyone. There may be lots of reasons to leave a company and they could in fact be crooked, but lack of freight and miles is a universal problem right now.

Call MegaTrux out of LA. They will be able to run you back up there enough to get you home. The frieght is lite, and most of the stuff runs in and out of LA.
I have worked with Art there for many years, and they are very fair with the O/Os. Ask around.
Don't give up. What is happening is more of a market correction then a lack of freight. The Top 15 companies are really getting it in the backside now because they priced themselves below operating costs. It will not be long before we see a lot of them close up shop. When they do, it will mean more for the rest of us.
For the record, I am not seeing anything of a slowdown in time sensitive LTL and Air Freight. I see a lot of the larger carriers sitting and waiting for stuff...but I think that is more of a customer service issue then a lack of freight issue.
I do not mind grabbing 5 picks in LA before going back to Houston. I am home every week, and besides, I make even more money off the picks and drops. The same thing goes for NYC-Boston. Sure, it is not easy to get around, but we still get em all picked in a day and roll back.
We are not waiting for the cargo either. If anything, we may wait a few hours to get the pickups in sync with the deilveries and locations. But overnight, or over the weekends is just not happening. I am not giving him credit for it, but since Obama hit DC, we have been strolling. -
I agree wholeheartedly!
I've personally shipped back a couple things I thought I was going to be able to afford. -
thanks for the replys...i will take a look at MegaTrux. Haven't heard anything about them so i will have to do some homework. Is there anything about their O/O pay you can tell me?? Sounds like i shoud get some miles with them though.

Think they are paying on percentage...the advantage is the lighter loads.

Anything else to be said regarding Megatrux.
Couple of threads started, but this is the only one where anything has been mentioned.
Hyper, got anything else to add about them? -
I called them a few months back - they're tough to get on the phone, I think it's a small recruiting dept., but she did email me their application package. If anyone wants a copy, PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you. I'm thinking about them myself, although it's strictly O/O and lease purchase.
