I've only been out here for three weeks so I don't want to take all the credit but..........

America unseats Russia, Saudi Arabia as No. 1 oil producer

Pretty cool! If Texas were a country(who knows it may be soon) it would be the 3rd largest oil producer behind Russia and Saudi Arabia. More production in Texas than Iran or Iraq!!

Well, I've done what I could to push it over the top(LOL) but there is a lot of amazing hard workers out here. Proud to be working alongside a lot of great folks during these amazing times!!

It's truly wild the amount of oil business in Texas now, I knew there was a boom but being out here and getting my hands dirty has been pretty amazing. I had no idea of the scope of the operations here.

    That's temporary.

We need to develop three fields that will in about 130 years turn us into a Creditor nation to the world when they come to us for energy from them.

What we are trying to do is export enough LNG to europe at half the cost that Russia sells to them to where all Europe gets our Gas. We have many LNG export facilites being built as well as the ships to do it with.

Then we need to find the balls to drill really deep and do it safely. Deep Water Horizon in the gulf had the potential output to replace the entire Middle East by itself. It is my theory if that thing did not fail as it did when it did we would have gone to war with Iran and the Middle Eastern supply be ######. DH would have replace that and then some for years to Hammond and Lake Charles. Imagine what we can do with a bunch of DH's.

Disclaimer. I own a piddling share or three in some rigs that are sealed due to turning to salt. Who knows someone will open them up again some day.

@x1Heavy I don't keep up with offshore, have we been drilling wells into that same formation where Macondo was located? If so, what kind of production figures are we seeing?

We have always bought oil rather than use up our reserves. Guess we figured we had more than enough now.

Those numbers are a little misleading. Russia is actually #1. Their number dips in the summertime as most of Europe stops buying natural gas. When it gets cold this fall and Europe turns the heat on the Russians will be back up to #1 again.

It was its own country, called the Republic of Texas, from 1836 until it agreed to join the United States in 1845.
