$3k seems to be right seeing that there may be more issues than the clutch, why do people think mechanics work for free?

$3000? Seems a little on the high side. Repair prices vary from state to state. Is had a clutch job done by our local mechanic, he did it for $1500.....I think $1500 to $2000 is about the norm if you don't go to the dealer

My local guy couldn't get me in, so I took it KW. $3900 for: rear bell housing gasket, rear main seal, easy pedal clutch, brake, turn flywheel and turbo down pipe.

Some of you guys think it is just slapping the clutch in and off you go.

The OP said there was problem disengaging it which means there are linkage issues, maybe bell housing bushings and the fork needs to be replaced. Then if there are other issues like the input shaft and rear main (which should always be done when the flywheel is off), it adds up.

^^^Good point. Could be a worn input shaft or linkage problems there as well. Although I have seen 2 clutches in my career that were abused to the point the clutch discs were warped about 2" each once the clutch was out on the floor. Clutch was locked up and we had to get the truck rolling with the starter to get it into the shop o_O

Mine would not disengage because the springs in the clutch plate broke and fell in between the clutch and the flywheel there by locking it all up drove home from Texas that way. The shop is Arrow Truck in Detroit
