I AM VERY SORRY FOR ALL YOU JOB JUMPERS OUT THERE AND ALL THE DRIVERS THAT SEEM TO NEVER BE HAPPY.I AM SORRY FOR ALL THE DRIVERS THAT SEEM TO QUIT ALL THE TIME.I LOVE MY JOB ALOT AND I LOVE TRUCKING FOR 25 YEARS NOW.

My trucking job i have is one of the greatest jobs i have ever had,and i am not about to give it up.I work for landstar ranger and i also have my own authority.I would not change it for the world.

I have 6 trucks and 11 trailers.I personally run 2 of them for landstar and 4 of them for my customers i have.I run legal 85% of the time and my occasional 15% being creative.I love my freedom,my pay,my trucks and my drivers. They don't whine and work very hard for me.They get the job done and take care of the trucks as if it were there own truck.

They go where i tell them to go and do it saftly and very fast on time del. They lump all there loads and work hard physically. They take care of me and i take care of them.My top driver made 62,000 last year and my lowest driver made 39,000.I give them health care, time off, vacation and nice trucks to run.

I have been at this for 22 years and i love trucking and it has given me a great life. Not to mention my family and kids i sent to collage.

I started out driving in a R-MODEL MACK.My first job was swinging beef delivering NYC everyday. It was hell at first and i climbed the ladder to success and now own my own business.

The difference today with ''drivers'' is they seem to be cry babies and quiters. You will get no were in life with that attitude.

So i am checking in to this forum with my 1st post being i love my job and i am happy and my family is happy.Trucking is great.

GOOD FOR YOU, US "BABY" SLOBS OUGHT TO SUCK IT UP AND LET COVENANT SCREW US MORE,AT $400 PER WEEK....SO HAPPY FOR YOU,
YOUR POST REEKS OF ONE WHO BELEIVES THAT HE IS BETTER THAN US ALL...MANY OF US WORK HARD AND GET SQUAT FOR WHAT WE DO,WE LOVE DRIVING ALSO,BUT THE INDUSTRY IS SET UP WITH COMPANIES THAT DO NO MORE THAN ENSLAVE THEIR DRIVERS,HEY IF YOU WERE OUT HERE 24/7 AND GOT PAID LESS THAN A MIGRANT WORKER WOULDN'T YOU WHINE? OH NO ,YOU ARE WAY TO MACHO FOR THAT...
AS JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP SAID"FORGET ABOUT ALL THAT MACHO #### AND LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR!" HA!
THERE ARE GOOD JOBS OUT HERE,FEW AND FAR IN BETWEEN..AND WITH THE ECONOMY IN DIRE STRAIGHTS....WE LOWLY SLOBS DO AS BEST AS WE CAN,AND HAUL FREIGHT SAFELY,ON TIME AND ---LEGAL---,

SO YOU STATE YOU ARE CREATIVE %15 OF YOUR LOADS, DO YOU EXPECT THE SAME FROM YOUR EMPLOYEES? THATS RICH,OR MAKING YOU RICH...ON THEIR RECORDS
    AND HARD WORK AND LABOR.

I truly enjoyed reading your post! I drove truck in the early 80's. The company I drove for ha cab over freightliners with 290 cummins engines in them. We hauled mostly cross ties, and telephone poles from Montgomery, Al. all along the east coast, and as far west as El Paso Texas. We were union with unbelievable benefits, and a starting CPM you wouldn' believe. You know what ?? All we ever did was COMPLAINE!! I guess the point I am trying to make is that I think it is in the coffee that truck drivers drink that makes them complain all the time and forever, and forever. Best of luck to you and your buisness sir.Oh yea I just turned fifty, and I am thinking about going to a CDL school, and getting back in it, but I tell you what if I do I will stay off of some of these forums on this webb site.

8 years experience and the best you can do is $400 a week with Covenant ? No wonder you are so hostile . But you get no sympathy from me . The more you guys keep bending over the more they will keep putting it to you and other drivers .

I am sorry you feel this way.But at 8 years you should of done something with your life and with your CDL and been climbing the ladder. You are at 8 years and still working for a bottom feeder company?.You need to look at that. And ask yourself why?

I have a driver with 1.5 years and he is my top dog and he ''put in his time'' at swift then came to me.He was the top driver last year and he is only 25 years old.He is working at going on his own and looking forward and reaching for the stars unlike you have done for 8 years i guess?

You have no one to blame but yourself for where your life is at in trucking. My drivers are good, work hard and bust there butt for there money.

i am a victim of my own reckless "job hopping" however back then it was accepted, today it is not.,plus after 4 years off the road this was all i had on the plate, i just don't like his butt in my face!
And i will drop covenant soon like a fully crapped diaper.

PS: i knew an owner op that had it all, great drivers untill 1 of them rolled his truck,
then things changed,so you are not immune to having a situation like this happen..
even though you are so wrapped up in your "I'M SO GREAT ATTITUDE."

You are not a ''victim'' you made your bed now you have to lie in that bed of poop. You should of been thinking like my 25 year old driver is doing now.He is a bright kid.He is looking towards the future and even goes to a business class once a week for business 101.He will be sucessful and not live the ''covenant'' life ever.

Besides that i will kick him in his ===== if he stops persuing the road he needs to be on and not end up at 20 years exp driving for bottom feeders, like you should of done.Know you are stuck

I am sorry you percive this ''i am great attitude''..Its not my intent. My intent was to tell everyone that in the beginning you have to ''pay your dues''..I am sorry you are a bitter person living in truck stops.:biggrin_25517:
