I saw a a bunch of professional aluminum ladders fly out of the bed of a four wheeler truck. I tried flashing my lights to get his attention but he kept on rolling.

Last week a fedex truck in front of me ran over a driveshaft while making a left turn. He suddenly came to a stop because it was apparently his driveshaft.

I carry a bike and go riding anywhere the weather is good. Typically stay at a truckstop where I can get a shower after the ride.
I found a wallet in Green River Utah with $120 ( a hundred and a twenty) with some airline boarding passes, female passenger, Indianapolis to Denver. Tried to look her up, no dice. Don't know if she had been abducted and was being held in the back of some van or what. I have found a total of $150 cash in the last 5 years, including that one.
Tools are all over the place. A complete set of 3/8' drive Craftsman Deep Sockets, all but the 11/16" which rolled down into the storm sewer grate. Channel lock pliers, Vice Grips, individual wrenches, 2 carpenters hammers. Tie down straps of all flavors, tarp straps, that sort of thing.
Found 4 cells phones over the years. 3 of them working. 2 of them I managed to call the owner and return them( one of them gave me a $25 gift card to Walmart for my trouble). 1 of them I started sending phantom messages until the network shutdown, then I returned it to Metro PCS.
I usually find something of some value on almost every ride.

My nicest find was a pair of skis dropped off a rack in front of me going west on that hill out of Denver, fully loaded. icy roads and the fools jump out of the car to try to stop me before grinding them into the road. It is that time of the year very soon. Must be that weed they smoke they throw brand new equipment on top of that nice new car and then they forget to close the rack. What can you do? Stop and try getting that wagon moving again without burning the clutch?

If it is blown into the fences while walking up to them buildings and looks like a dirty slip of paper, it may be a 20 and then you happy if you can stand back up after picking it up. Have found many tools, a camera and even a good cordless drill on the side of the road. Had to stop on side of road for that one, thought I was seeing things. Picked it up and still had a good charge, now it is in my tool shed.

I used to run a lot of petroleum north out of New Haven Harbor. One of guys I worked with was a road treasure magnet. He was always bringing home hundreds dollars worth of lost petroleum equipment. Coaxial couplers, hoses.

I had an airline problem about a thousand feet past a truck stop on the interstate. While walking to the truck stop I peered over the bank and the amount of trash and litter I saw was pretty discouraging. Pardon my holy boy talk, but it's as simple as people who litter are slobs, said the crying Indian.
    Stepping off soapbox.

If it is a little plastic package laying on the ground where they do them drug sniffing dogs on the road I would leave them be.

Oh, yeah, I almost ran over a guy standing on the zipper on EB I-80 west of Laramie, WY in the pre-dawn. It was 26° and all he was wearing was a t-shirt and socks.
    Does that count?
