If you customize a truck online at the dealer's website, how soon on average can the truck be customized and ready for you to buy?
Only curious about customizing a new truck

It depends. We had a guy buy a brand new Freightliner. It was gonna be delivered August. Then he got a call for September, then it was October, right now they "promised" him November.. let's see wat they say next month... Lol.
Oldironfan and TruckRunner Thank this. -
Depends on truck.
Kenworth is usually ahead of due date on a build -
If they're ordering it from the factory to your specifications, count on a minimum of 6 to 8 months. Most manufacturers are working overtime to keep up with all of the orders.
I was just informed today that my new KW T680 arrived at the dealership. I didn't order it spec, but took one that they had already ordered, and I still waited 3 months for it. It was close enough to my specs and I'm happy to get it.20 Mule Team and TruckRunner Thank this. -
How do you customize a truck online?
I have to go to the dealer and discuss anything I want changed with them.Oldironfan Thanks this. -

That is just a play tool, not an actual order form. It is a way to entice you into goving your details to a local dealer.Oldironfan Thanks this.

Yep ... Took me 5 weeks of going back and forth with the dealer to spec out my truck. Then another week before the factory gave me a build date for 6 weeks out.
Those sites just give you ballpark of how you can configure a truck. There's a lot more to configuring a truck than what's on the marketing site
And don't assume anything. If you don't spec it the way you want, you may not get what you thought you were going to get. Especially the little things that you wouldn't think about.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
Thanks but ... as he said below
The number of options on any truck is along, very long. MOST people don't get to see that list, let alone order outside the standard order for a truck.
I have been doing this for a while and I have three or four specs I use depending on what mood I am in, these were all worked out long time ago and it saves me hours haggling with my sale dweeb.Oldironfan and TruckRunner Thank this. -
Maybe he though buying a new truck was as easy as ordering a pizza online hahahahOldironfan Thanks this.
